Terms of use

Acceptance

These terms govern your use of the Deckyard website and the Deckyard software ("Deckyard"), both provided by Chronsyn ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Deckyard, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Licence to use Deckyard

Deckyard is currently proprietary software offered free of charge. We grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Deckyard for your own personal or business purposes. You may not:

  • sell, rent, sub-licence, or redistribute the installer or the software as your own;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble it, except to the limited extent that law expressly permits despite this restriction;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other notices.

We may release Deckyard under an open-source licence in the future. If and when we do, that licence will govern the version it is applied to, and will take precedence over this section for that version.

Your responsibilities

Deckyard lets you automate powerful actions โ€” including keystrokes, opening URLs, making HTTP requests, running shell commands, and controlling other software and devices on your network. You are solely responsible for what you configure it to do and for the consequences of those actions. Shell commands and similar actions run with your own user permissions; only set up actions you understand and trust. You agree not to use Deckyard for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes the rights of others.

Third-party products and trademarks

Deckyard works alongside hardware and services made by others. Stream Deck and Elgato are trademarks of Corsair / Elgato; Mirabox, Home Assistant, and other names are trademarks of their respective owners. Deckyard is an independent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of them. We make no guarantee that Deckyard will be compatible with, or continue to work with, any particular device or third-party service, which may change at any time outside our control.

No warranty

Deckyard and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Deckyard will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, hardware damage, lost profits, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of Deckyard โ€” including any actions you configure it to perform. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Availability

This website and the downloads it provides are offered on a best-effort basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the site, any download, or Deckyard itself at any time without notice.

Intellectual property

The Deckyard name, logo, and the content of this website belong to Chronsyn. This licence does not give you any rights to use them except as needed to use the software as intended.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above. Your continued use of Deckyard after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes relating to them or to Deckyard are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
